Emergency responders arrived at the scene of a severe accident involving a Mercedes-Benz SUV and a truck carrying a 40-foot container in the Mandilas bus stop, Iyana Isolo, Lagos State.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the SUV, travelling at an excessive speed, collided with the truck, causing a fire in the SUV’s engine.
Three adult males in the SUV were severely razed and sustained injuries at the scene.
The response team comprised the Agency’s unit, LRU Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire Service, SEHMU, LASTMA, Nigeria Police, and LASAMBUS.
Using heavy-duty equipment, including cranes and lowbeds, the container truck and the burnt car were removed and towed to the LASTMA yard.
Rescue teams extricated the victims from the wreckage with light rescue equipment, and their remains were handed over to SEHMU for transfer to the morgue.
