Nigeria and Bayer Leverkusen Star, Nathan Tella has pulled out of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers due to family reasons.

Nathan Tella was part of the Bayer Leverkusen side who made history in German Bundesliga winning the league without losing any match. They finished the season winning the Bundesliga Title and the German Cup.

The Coach of the Super Eagles, Finidi George, has called up Caykur Rizespor Midfielder, Ibrahim Olawoyin to replace Tella ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.

Olawoyin played for Nigeria Professional Football Club, Rangers International before moving to Ankara Keclorengucu in Turkey. He scored a total of Ten goals in 43 Appearances for the Enugu-based club.

He debuted in his side’s 2-0 win over Adanaspor for his new club. Olawoyin scored a brace to lead his side to a 3-2 win over visiting Istanbulspor. He moved to another Turkish club, Caykur Rizespor in January 2023.
