Attendees also comprised Minister of Information and Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.

During the meeting, the government pledged that President Bola Tinubu would approve a minimum wage exceeding N60,000 and assured that no worker participating in the strike would face retaliation.

The labour leaders agreed to consult with their respective organisations on the decisions made. A joint communiqué, signed by Idris, Onyejeocha, Osifo, and Ajaero, detailed the resolutions:

  1. President Bola Tinubu committed to a National Minimum Wage higher than N60,000.
  2. The Tripartite Committee will convene daily for a week to finalize the new minimum wage.
  3. Labour leaders will meet with their groups to discuss the government’s commitment.
  4. No worker will be victimised for taking part in the strike
