A night of tribute was held in his honour on Wednesday in Enugu State, with fellow actors Charles Anwurum and Victor Osuagwu among those paying their last respects.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the Actors Guild of Nigeria held a candlelight procession at Unity Fountain in Abuja to honor Mr. Ibu and other deceased actors.

Rangers International Football Club, alongside celebrities, organized a novelty football match to pay tribute to Mr. Ibu.

The beloved actor passed away on March 2, 2024, after a prolonged illness. In October 2023, Mr. Ibu had revealed his battle with diabetes, and in November, he underwent seven surgeries leading to the amputation of his leg.
