Nigerian trio of Ese Brume, Ruth Usoro, and Prestina Ochonogor have made history by securing their places in the women’s long jump final at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

This marks the first time three Nigerian women have reached the event’s final in Olympic history. Brume, an Olympic bronze medallist, overcame a shaky start that saw her in 9th place to achieve a leap of 6.7 meters in her final attempt, securing her automatic qualification for the final.

Ruth Usoro also impressed with a jump of 6.76 meters, while Prestina Ochonogor followed closely with a leap of 6.65 meters, ensuring all three athletes advanced to the final.

The trio will compete for podium finishes alongside 12 other finalists on Thursday, promising an exciting competition.
