Amnesty International has revealed that more than 1,000 #EndBadGovernance protesters are currently in prison across Nigeria following recent hunger protests held from August 1st to 10th 2024.

The protests, which turned violent in some areas, led to looting and vandalism in various states. On August 6th, 2024, Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun announced the arrest of several individuals accused of sponsoring rioters who allegedly hoisted foreign flags and called for a change of government in states like Kano, Kaduna, and Zamfara.
