In another Carabao Cup match, Nigerian Midfielder, Alex Iwobi played for Fulham as they secured a 2-0 win against Birmingham. However, Iwobi’s Nigerian teammate, Calvin Bassey, remained on the bench as an unused substitute.

Other notable results from the round included Crystal Palace’s 4-0 thrashing of Norwich City, with Eberechi Eze getting on the scoresheet. Watford defeated Plymouth 2-0, QPR won on penalties against Luton after a 1-1 draw, Everton beat Doncaster 3-0, and Stoke City hammered Middlesbrough 5-0.
