The match at Estadio Pascual Guerrero started with Venezuela in possession, but it was Nigeria who made the first move. Twelve minutes in, Okwuchukwu nearly gave the Falconets the lead, but her shot was saved by the Venezuelan goalkeeper after a clever setup from Sebastine.

Just four minutes later, Nigeria’s dominance paid off. A quick exchange between Okwuchukwu and Amina Bello led to Bello calmly scoring the opener. Okwuchukwu doubled Nigeria’s lead in the 28th minute with a close-range header, putting the team firmly in control.

Venezuela struggled to penetrate Nigeria’s defense and were kept at bay by a brilliant save from the Nigerian Goalkeeper, Faith Omilana, who was making her debut for the Falconets.

Omilana’s crucial stop maintained Nigeria’s lead before the team added a third goal in first-half stoppage time, with Flourish Sebastine tapping in to give the Falconets a comfortable 3-0 advantage at halftime.

In the second half, Nigeria continued to dominate, and in the third minute of added time, substitute Joy Igbokwe sealed the victory with a powerful strike from distance, making it 4-0.

The win ensured Nigeria’s progression to the Round of 16, with standout performances from Amina Bello, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, Flourish Sebastine, and Joy Igbokwe contributing to a dominant display.
