Team Nigeria has wrapped up its campaign at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, finishing 40th on the overall medal table with an impressive tally of seven medals: two gold, three silver, and two bronze.

Onyinyechi Mark made headlines by shattering the Paralympic record in the women’s 61kg powerlifting category with a phenomenal lift of 145kg, securing one of the gold medals.

Another gold went to Folashade Oluwafemiayo, who dominated the women’s over 86kg powerlifting category.
Bose Omolayo added to Nigeria’s success with a silver medal in the women’s up to 79kg Para-powerlifting category, matching Mark’s 145kg lift.
In the Women’s Javelin F54 category, Flora Ugwunwa secured a silver medal with a throw of 19.26m, while Esther Nworgu also clinched silver in the Powerlifting Women’s up to 41kg category.

Making history in Para Table Tennis, Isau Ogunkunle became the first Nigerian player since the Sydney 2000 Games to win an individual medal, taking home bronze in the Men’s Singles Class 4 event.
