Morocco has confirmed its first case of Mpox, the country’s health ministry announced on Thursday. The case was identified in a man from Marrakech, though the ministry did not provide details on the specific variant of the virus involved.

The World Health Organization (WHO) had previously declared the recent Mpox outbreak a public health emergency of international concern after a new variant was discovered.
