Nigeria Super Falcons and Levante Las Planas Midfielder, Ngozi Okobi has announced the birth of her child.

On Tuesday, Okobi shared the news on her X social media platform, posting, “Congratulations to me. #godbepraised #iamamother #newmom. I am in my new season #Okobi NSPPD,” along with photos of her baby bump.

The former Elskiltun (Sweden) midfielder married her husband, Okeoghene, on December 9, 2017, in Delta State. Despite her marriage, she continued playing professionally for almost seven years before welcoming their child.

Okobi has had an illustrious career, representing Nigeria at the 2010 U-17 Women’s World Cup, the 2010 and 2022 WAFCON tournaments, and the 2012 FIFA U-20 World Cup. She also competed in the 2014, 2016, and 2018 WAFCON tournaments, as well as the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups.

However, she was left out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup by former coach Randy Waldrum and has not rejoined the national team since.
