Rescue operations are in progress following the collapse of a mine pit in Zambia’s Mumbwa District, which left 10 dead and five injured, according to police reports on Monday.
The accident occurred when a group of miners was conducting activities at the site, causing the earth to cave in. Authorities are working to rescue those believed to be trapped beneath the debris.
Local politician Collins Nzovu assured that all efforts will be made to assist and investigate the incident thoroughly.
