Super Eagles head coach Augustine Eguavoen has announced a 35-man squad for Nigeria’s pivotal 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying match against Ghana.
Eguavoen’s roster, packed with top talents from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), aims to secure a spot in the upcoming CHAN tournament after Nigeria missed the last edition, narrowly losing to Ghana in the qualifiers.

Notable players included in the squad are Ismail Sadiq from Remo Stars, Zikifilu Rabiu of Kano Pillars, and Kazeem Ogunleye from Enugu Rangers. The squad also sees the inclusion of first-time call-ups for Mohammed Galadima (Nasarawa United goalkeeper), Wisdom Ndon (Akwa United defender), and Michael Enaruma (Bendel Insurance forward).
The first leg of the qualifier is scheduled for the weekend of December 20-22, with the return leg taking place a week later. The aggregate winner will earn a place in the CHAN tournament, set for February 1-28, 2025, in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. This unique tournament features only players from domestic leagues, providing a platform for Nigeria’s homegrown talent to shine on an international stage.

To kick off their preparations, Eguavoen’s squad will begin training camp in Abuja on October 29.
