The Senate has commenced the screening of seven ministerial nominees appointed by President Bola Tinubu last Wednesday. The screening, originally scheduled for Tuesday, took place in the red chamber on Wednesday, starting with Nentawe Yilwatda, who has been nominated to replace Betta Edu as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

To accommodate the nominees, the Senate suspended its rules. The other nominees include Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu for Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi for Minister of Labour and Employment, and Jumoke Oduwole for Minister of Industry. Additionally, Idi Maiha is nominated for the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata for Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad for Minister of State for Education.
