Nigeria’s Flying Eagles successfully defended their WAFU B Championship crown, defeating rivals Ghana 2-1 in a thrilling final at Stade de Kegue in Lome, Togo.

Beyond Limit forward, Arierhi Kparobo was the hero of the match, scoring two exceptional first-half goals that led Nigeria to back-to-back championship victories.

The match remained closely contested for the first 33 minutes until Kparobo broke the deadlock with a brilliant strike. Positioned on the right flank, the Beyond Limits forward let the ball roll across him before firing a left-footed shot into the net. Just minutes later, the 17-year-old made it 2-0, running free to powerfully place the ball in the top corner, giving Nigeria a solid lead at halftime.

After the break, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles shifted focus to defense, aiming to protect their advantage. Ghana responded with determined attacking play, ultimately scoring a well-placed header midway through the second half to narrow the scoreline. Despite creating some opportunities, Ghana couldn’t find an equalizer, and Nigeria held firm to secure the win.

With this victory, both Nigeria and Ghana have qualified for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations next year in South Africa. Earlier, Côte d’Ivoire claimed the bronze, defeating Burkina Faso 2-1 in the third-place match.
