The helicopter went down as it attempted to land at N’Dolo Airport, which primarily serves light aircraft in Kinshasa’s Barumbu district, near the Funa River. Emergency response teams arrived swiftly, working to extinguish the flames at the crash site.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident, which remains unknown. This tragic incident comes just a day after a military drone, reportedly operated by the M23 rebel group, crashed in eastern Congo’s North Kivu province.
