Troops of the Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) faced a surprise militant ambush while patrolling a critical supply route near Gidan Rana, between Isa and Gudumi in Sokoto State’s Isa Local Government Area. The soldiers encountered heavy gunfire but managed to repel the attackers in a fierce firefight.

In the aftermath, one soldier was confirmed dead, five were injured, and one remains missing. A military technical vehicle was also destroyed in the ambush. The injured personnel were swiftly transported to Isa General Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
