Nigerian Air Force Strikes Kill 70 Terrorists in Borno

On November 6, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jets launched precision airstrikes on terrorist hideouts on Kwallaram and Arianna Ciki islands in Borno State, eliminating 70 insurgents.

This operation followed credible intelligence on terrorist activity in the region, according to Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, who released a statement on Saturday, November 9.

In the past week, Nigerian troops on operations nationwide have intensified efforts against terrorism, neutralizing a total of 169 terrorists and arresting 641 suspected criminals. Major General Buba further reported that troops recovered a significant arsenal of 192 high-caliber weapons, including 106 AK-47 rifles, 38 fabricated rifles, and an assortment of other firearms.

Additionally, troops seized 2,970 rounds of ammunition, comprising 1,410 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 1,074 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, along with various other calibers. The Defence Headquarters commends the dedication of Nigerian forces in their ongoing efforts to enhance national security.
