It’s a Black Monday in Epe as a Dangote Cement trailer, reportedly with faulty brakes, ran into Alapere Market, claiming countless lives.
The victims included children on their way to school and people going about their day in the market.

Giving update on the situation, Hon. ODUNARE M.O said “ work is already ongoing to restore normalcy as quickly as possible. All relevant government agencies are on the ground, including firefighters, the Nigerian Police, FRSC, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), youth and student bodies.
“We are also deploying the Nigerian Army to help manage the crowd and alleviate the congestion. The Chairman, Vice Chairman, and other local government officials are present as well. May their souls rest in peace”.
As at the time of filing this report, the accurate numbers of survivors and dead victims haven’t been confirmed.
