The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas military chief Mohammed al-Masri (also known as Mohammed Dief) over alleged war crimes.
Netanyahu and Gallant are accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed between October 8, 2023, and May 20, 2024. The ICC alleges they intentionally deprived Gaza’s civilian population of essential resources such as food, water, medicine, and electricity.
The court also issued a warrant for al-Masri, accusing him of committing murder, torture, rape, and other forms of sexual violence in Israel and Palestine since October 7, 2023.
These decisions come amidst ongoing tensions in the region, with the court citing reasonable grounds for the charges.
