In a high-level meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli on Thursday, key officials, including Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation Ali Al-Abed and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Adel Jumaa, reviewed the final technical steps needed for the initiative’s implementation.

The meeting was attended by representatives from Libya’s security agencies, the Directorate of Passports, and the Libyan Telecommunications Holding Company.

Central to the discussions was the integration of the existing “Wafid” system, which manages work permits, with the new electronic visa platform.

This integration aims to improve monitoring of the movement and residency of foreign nationals in Libya.

The Directorate emphasized the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Labour, telecommunications experts, and security officials to ensure the project progresses rapidly.

The “Wafid” system will serve as the foundation for the rollout of the electronic visa system, heralding a more efficient and secure approach to immigration in Libya.
