Libya and Tunisia Strengthen Trade Relations with Key MoUs

Libya’s Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al Hwej, and his Tunisian counterpart, Samir Obaid, signed multiple trade cooperation memorandums of understanding in Tripoli on Saturday, December 7.

The MoUs focus on the Libya-Tunisia Continental Land Corridor project, consumer protection, organizing exhibitions for 2025, free trade and logistics zones for 2025-2026, and boosting trade from 3.5 billion to 5 billion Libyan dinars.

During the meeting of the Libyan-Tunisian Joint Economic Committee, Al Hwej emphasized the goal of increasing bilateral trade, while Obaid highlighted efforts to activate existing agreements and foster partnerships between traders and industrialists from both countries.

The two sides also agreed to hold a tripartite summit with Algeria to further enhance regional cooperation.
