The 203-kilometer standard-gauge railway will provide direct rail connectivity between Kano and Abuja, promoting the development of related industries along the route.

The project, being constructed by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), is expected to create numerous job opportunities in Nigeria.

The Kano-Kaduna railway project is part of the Belt and Road Initiative and has been included in the list of practical cooperation projects for the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

The CDB has pledged to work closely with the Nigerian side to ensure the continued disbursement of loans and effective management of the project’s completion.
