A massive manhunt is underway in South Africa for a notorious Lesotho gang leader known as “Tiger,” who allegedly controlled operations at an illegal gold mine where 78 bodies were recovered last week.

Tiger escaped from police custody with the help of officials, sparking a widespread investigation.

The South African Police Service has launched an extensive search operation to find Tiger and the officials who aided his escape.

Police claim that Tiger and other gang leaders were responsible for the deaths at the mine, citing reports from miners that the leaders hoarded food and supplies for themselves.

The illegal gold mining industry in South Africa is a lucrative but deadly business, with thousands of people, including illegal immigrants from neighboring countries, risking their lives in abandoned mines. The industry is allegedly run by Lesotho-based gangs, and police are working to dismantle these networks.

Tiger’s escape has sparked outrage, and police are under pressure to recapture him and bring him to justice.

The investigation is ongoing, with police reviewing videos and statements from miners that allegedly implicate Tiger in deaths, assaults, and torture.
