Ghana’s annual inflation rate edged down to 23.5% in January from 23.8% in December, according to the country’s statistics service on Monday. Government Statistician Samuel Kobina Annim attributed the slight decline to a slowdown in non-food inflation, though food prices continued to climb.
“Although the rate of inflation has slowed by 0.3 percentage points, the 23.5% figure remains the second highest in the past nine months,” Annim said during a news conference.
