The Nigerian national grid has collapsed, causing widespread power outages across the country.
The collapse occurred at 11:34 am local time on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, according to the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company.
This is the first grid collapse in 2025, following a pattern of instability that saw about 12 consecutive collapses in 2024.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company and other stakeholders are working to restore power supply as soon as possible.
