Local police identified Scott’s body, and his employer confirmed the news on Monday.

Fico staff described themselves as “devastated” by the loss, remembering Scott as a leader in the company’s international Scores business who was instrumental in growing the firm’s partnerships.

Scott, from Fife, Scotland, studied at Woodmill High School and Kirkcaldy Technical College before working for several companies, including Fico, which he joined in 2014.

The UK Foreign Office has been approached for comment on the incident.
