Among the victims was Major General Bahr Ahmed, a senior commander in Khartoum who previously served as the commander of the army across the entire capital.

The Sudanese army confirmed the incident, stating that several military personnel and civilians were killed, but did not provide further details.

The crash has raised concerns about the safety of military aircraft and the potential risks to civilians living in residential areas near military airports.

An investigation into the incident is likely to be launched to determine the exact cause of the crash.
