With the approval of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto,H.M. Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III ,the new moon of Ramadan has been sighted in several locations across Nigeria.
This confirms the commencement of the Islamic month of fasting, observed by Muslims worldwide.
As a result, the first day of Ramadan 1446 AH will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025. This marks the beginning of a sacred period of fasting, prayer, and devotion for the Muslim community in Nigeria and beyond.
His Eminence is expected to deliver his traditional broadcast. In his address, he will officially declare the start of Ramadan and offer guidance to the Muslim faithful on the spiritual significance of the holy month.
Muslims across the country are encouraged to prepare for this period of reflection, self-discipline, and increased acts of worship. The month of Ramadan is a time of heightened devotion, charity, and seeking divine blessings
