This two-year project is expected to enhance power reliability in key areas, including the Central Market, Central Business District, Central Hospital, educational institutions, and nearby rural communities.

The initiative will reduce power outages, decrease reliance on generators, and lower fuel costs and CO2 emissions, contributing to a more sustainable environment.

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson signed on behalf of the Government of Ghana, while Suzuki Momoko, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ghana Office, signed for Japan. Dr. Forson expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for its support, emphasizing the project’s importance in stabilizing power distribution in the Tamale Metropolis.

This partnership reflects Japan’s continued commitment to supporting Ghana’s development and strengthens diplomatic ties between the two nations.
