The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday re-arraigned former National Security Adviser (NSA) Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retd) and ex-NNPC General Manager Aminu Baba-Kusa before the Federal Capital Territory High Court over alleged misappropriation of N33.2 billion meant for arms procurement during the Boko Haram insurgency.

The fresh arraignment before Justice Charles Agbaza follows the reassignment of the case from FCT Chief Judge Hussein Baba-Yusuf, who previously presided over the matter before his elevation. “This is a chance to finally get justice after years of delays,” an EFCC prosecutor told journalists outside the courtroom.

The defendants, including two companies – Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited – originally faced 19 counts of money laundering and criminal breach of trust involving N13.5 billion when first arraigned in December 2015. The charges were later amended in 2018 to 32 counts reflecting the higher N33.2 billion figure.
