DTigress of Nigeria has qualified for the Olympics scheduled in Paris from the 26th of July to August 11th, 2024.
The qualification comes in after Belgium defeated Senegal 97 to 66 in the second group A Game. DTigress had earlier lost their second group game 100 to 46 to the United States of America. Belgium’s win against Senegal confirmed the reigning Afro-Basket Champion’s qualification for the Olympics. Nigeria who has previously qualified twice for the Olympics (Athens 2004 and Tokyo 2020) will be hoping to get to the Medal Table when they compete in Paris.
The United States Women’s Basketball Team had already qualified having emerged as the Champions of the 2022 FIBA’s Women Basketball tournament in Australia. The Host Nation of the Qualifiers, Belgium will also play in the 2024 Olympics after defeating Senegal.
Nigeria will play their last group game versus Belgium on Sunday, February 11th, 2024 by 4.45 pm.
