Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed June 27, 2025, as the date for judgment in the case brought by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who is challenging her suspension from the Senate.
The suspended lawmaker, representing Kogi Central, filed the lawsuit against the Clerk of the National Assembly, the Senate, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Senator Neda Imasuen, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct.
Tuesday’s hearing focused on the adoption of all pending motions, including those regarding contempt of court and preliminary objections to the case. Proceedings were marked by procedural disputes, as parties argued over which filings should be considered valid.
Counsel to the third defendant, Kehinde Ogunwunniju, requested that outdated or withdrawn documents be formally set aside, but the judge advised that such procedural matters should have been addressed earlier.
