The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, has firmly rejected allegations of ethnic bias and administrative incompetence following technical errors that marred the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The errors affected over 379,997 candidates in Lagos and the South-East zones due to faulty server updates that led to the failure to upload candidate responses during the first three days of the exam.

Oloyede attributed the errors to human error, emphasizing that there’s no evidence of ethnic sabotage or conspiracy against any region.

He urged stakeholders to stop ethnic profiling of education, criticizing those who exploit difficulties to promote ethnic or conspiracy-driven narratives.

Despite calls for his resignation, Oloyede maintained that JAMB remains committed to fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all candidates across Nigeria.
