South African former Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius was spotted competing in a triathlon in Durban, South Africa, 12 years after murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, and a year after his release on parole.
Pistorius, known as the “Blade Runner” for his carbon-fiber prosthetic legs, participated in the Ironman 70.3 competition, completing a 2km swim, 90km bike ride, and 21km run. His attorney confirmed his participation, and results show he came 555th overall and third in the “physically challenged” category.
Pistorius was freed from jail in January 2024 after serving more than half his sentence and is on parole until 2029.
He had previously claimed he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he shot her through a locked bathroom door on Valentine’s Day in 2013.
