Aliyu Audu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, has resigned from his position.
In a one-page resignation letter dated June 8, 2025, and submitted through the President’s Chief of Staff, Audu stated that his resignation was effective immediately.
Expressing his gratitude, Audu thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve under what he described as “your visionary leadership.” He also acknowledged the role of former presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, whose recommendation led to his nomination on August 26, 2023.
Reflecting on his time in office, Audu wrote, “It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.” He ended the letter with assurances of his highest esteem and offered prayers for the continued success of the President’s leadership and the progress of the nation.
As of the time of this report, the Presidency has not issued an official response to Audu’s resignation.
