Senegalese-Italian TikTok sensation Khaby Lame has left the United States after being briefly detained by immigration officials in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said Lame, who arrived in the country on April 30, was held last Friday and released the same day. He later departed voluntarily, though officials did not disclose the exact date or his current location.

The 25-year-old, known globally for his silent comedic videos and signature expressions, boasts over 162 million followers on TikTok. He became a breakout star during the COVID-19 pandemic and is widely considered one of the platform’s biggest influencers.

Lame has not issued a public statement regarding his detention or departure, leaving fans speculating about his next move.

Although he holds Italian citizenship, which permits travel to the U.S. without a visa for up to 90 days, reports suggest he exceeded that limit. His voluntary exit allows him to avoid a formal deportation order, which could have barred him from returning to the U.S. for up to ten years.

Lame’s case is among the most high-profile incidents linked to the Trump administration’s intensified immigration enforcement, which has led to mass protests and a record number of detentions. As of early June, over 51,000 undocumented migrants were in ICE custody—the highest figure since 2019.

While Lame recently attended the Met Gala in May, details about his other activities during his stay remain unclear.
