Super Eagles star Moses Simon has completed a landmark transfer to Paris FC, becoming the first Nigerian male footballer to sign for the French club. The 29-year-old winger joins on a four-year deal that runs until 2028, bringing an end to a successful six-year stint at FC Nantes.

Paris FC confirmed the signing on Wednesday via their official social media platforms, announcing: “The Nigerian winger, with nearly 180 Ligue 1 matches under his belt, joins Paris FC until 2028.”

Simon’s transfer is reportedly valued at €7 million, and he is set to earn around €75,000 per week — nearly twice his previous salary at Nantes. The move comes just weeks after Paris FC secured promotion to Ligue 1, making Simon’s arrival a major boost as they prepare for top-flight football.

At Nantes, Simon featured in 201 matches across all competitions, scoring 37 goals and providing 42 assists. His final campaign with the club was arguably his best yet, as he recorded eight goals and 10 assists in 32 Ligue 1 appearances during the 2023/24 season.

Nantes paid tribute to their departing forward, stating:
“FC Nantes wishes Moses all the best in his future career and warmly thanks him for his loyalty to the Club. Thank you for everything, @Simon27Moses!”

Simon also shared an emotional farewell message to the club and fans, writing:
“Six seasons giving it my all with heart. Sprints, crosses, thrills… and memories etched in. Thank you FC Nantes, thank you Beaujoire. I leave with pride and a piece of this club in my heart.”

His move to Paris FC marks another chapter in his impressive career, which has included previous spells at Gent and Levante. Simon’s arrival is also symbolic — he becomes the club’s first Nigerian male signing, following in the footsteps of Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, who starred for Paris FC’s women’s team before departing earlier this summer.

With 81 caps and 10 goals for Nigeria, Simon brings a wealth of international and Ligue 1 experience to his new club. Paris FC will be banking on his pace, creativity, and versatility as they look to make a strong impression in their return to the top tier of French football.
