Kenya’s inflation rate remained unchanged at 3.8% year-on-year in June, according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.
The inflation rate was primarily driven by rising prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, transport, and housing.
Monthly inflation was also steady at 0.5% in June, compared to the previous month.
The Central Bank of Kenya targets inflation to be within the 2.5% to 7.5% range in the medium term and recently cut its benchmark lending rate by 25 basis points to 9.75% to support the economy.
