A Federal High Court in Abuja has nullified the six-month suspension of Kogi State Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, ordering the Senate to recall her.

Justice Binta Fatima Nyako ruled that the suspension was unconstitutional and unlawful, denying Akpoti-Uduaghan’s constituents adequate representation.

The court faulted the Senate’s decision, declaring it a violation of the Constitution.

Akpoti-Uduaghan had filed a suit challenging her suspension, which was imposed after she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.

The judge ordered the Senate to reinstate Akpoti-Uduaghan forthwith, allowing her to resume her duties as a senator representing Kogi State.
