Ojukwu expressed Nigeria’s readiness to fully implement the agreements reached during President Bola Tinubu’s 2024 visit to France, particularly in areas such as energy, infrastructure, and education. She also called for increased French investment in Nigeria, assuring the ambassador of a secure and enabling environment for business operations. In addition, she commended France for its continued support in Nigeria’s counter-terrorism efforts.

Ambassador Fonbaustier, on his part, reiterated France’s commitment to deepening ties with Nigeria, describing both nations as sharing common values. He announced plans for a series of cultural events aimed at boosting people-to-people engagement, including a Fela Kuti exhibition and the “Forum Creation Africa,” scheduled to take place in Lagos from October 16 to 18, 2025.

The French envoy also praised the Nigerian government’s ongoing economic reforms and invited Minister Ojukwu to attend France’s National Day celebrations on July 14.
