According to a statement posted by the ministry, the consulate is expected to resume operations in the Libyan capital in the coming days.

The discussions also included broader coordination to secure all diplomatic missions operating in Libya.

The step is part of ongoing efforts to stabilize the capital and provide a safe environment for diplomatic activities.

Earlier, Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Libyan Affairs, Ambassador Tarek Dahroug, had confirmed that Cairo intends to reopen its consulate in Tripoli by the end of this year.
