Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked Islamist group, claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that at least two Kenyan soldiers were killed and others wounded.

The Kenya Defence Forces confirmed the incident, saying the soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the country’s borders.

The military has launched an investigation into the attack and is working to identify those responsible.

This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region, where Al-Shabaab continues to carry out attacks on military and civilian targets.
