Former Liberian President George Weah visited Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja on Thursday to sign the condolence register in honour of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Weah, who led Liberia from 2018 to 2024, arrived at the ministry alongside his entourage and was warmly received by the Ministry’s Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Wahab Akande.
The visit is part of a growing wave of tributes from African leaders mourning the passing of President Buhari, who died in a London hospital on Sunday after a brief illness.
Buhari was laid to rest on Tuesday in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in a ceremony attended by President Bola Tinubu, top government officials, and dignitaries from across the continent.
Weah described Buhari as a “towering figure in African leadership” and praised his commitment to regional stability and democratic governance.
