Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their service and wished them success in their future endeavours.

To fill the vacant positions, Zulum appointed Engr. Mohammed Habib and Ibrahim Hala Hassan as the new commissioners for Environment and Intergovernmental and Special Duties, respectively.

In a related development, the governor also approved the appointment of Professor Yusuf Gana Balami as the Executive Chairman of the Borno State Secondary Education Board.

Professor Balami, a seasoned academic and Professor of Educational Psychology, hails from Hawul in southern Borno. His career spans decades, beginning with the Borno State Ministry of Education (1984–1988) before joining the University of Maiduguri, where he rose to the rank of professor in 2014.

He is a member of several professional organisations and has authored numerous academic publications.

Governor Zulum congratulated Professor Balami on his new role and urged him to apply his vast experience in education to reform and strengthen the state’s secondary school system.

According to the statement, all the appointments have been forwarded to the Borno State House of Assembly for legislative confirmation.
