Legacy FM, a private radio station in Ebonyi State, has suspended its Acting General Manager, Godfrey Chikwere, effective immediately, citing “unruly behavior” and disobedience to the station’s code of conduct.

The suspension follows Chikwere’s criticisms of Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration on air and social media, where he alleged poor communication, underperformance by appointees, and lack of clear policy direction.

Chikwere also advised the governor to “step on toes to achieve results,” stating that the current state of affairs weakened his support base.

The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, responded, describing the criticisms as unfounded and baseless, and accusing Chikwere of ingratitude despite the government’s support for the radio station, including a new SUV, transformer, and road construction.
