Arsenal have confirmed the signing of England international Eberechi Eze on a long-term contract, marking a homecoming for the 27-year-old attacking midfielder whose football journey began in the Gunners’ academy.

Eze joins from Crystal Palace after five standout seasons at Selhurst Park, where he made over 150 appearances and played a defining role in the club’s historic FA Cup triumph earlier this year. The midfielder etched his name into Palace folklore in May when he scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the final.

His career has been one of steady progression. After bursting onto the scene with Queens Park Rangers—where he won Player of the Year in 2020—he earned a move to Palace that summer, quickly establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most dynamic playmakers.

On the international stage, Eze has collected 11 England caps since making his debut in 2023. He netted his first goal for the Three Lions in a 2026 World Cup qualifier, a 3-0 win over Latvia.

Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta welcomed the signing, saying: “We are so pleased to have completed this deal to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. He is a creative and explosive talent with huge technical quality. He has proven himself a big-game player, and his international experience with England underlines both his quality and character. We are confident he will be an important addition as we continue to build for success.”

Manager Mikel Arteta also expressed his excitement: “We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. He is a powerful, exciting player who will add a new dimension to our attack. What stands out about him is not just his talent and intelligence, but the way he has worked tirelessly to reach this point in his career. His journey, mentality, and ambition are exactly what we want in our team. We love how much it means to him and his family to be here, and we look forward to working with him.”
Eze, who will wear Arsenal’s iconic No. 10 shirt, is expected to join up with his new teammates after the Gunners’ Premier League clash against Leeds United this weekend.
The transfer remains subject to final regulatory approval.
