The 12,700-capacity Kilamba Arena in Luanda was packed on Sunday as hosts Angola reclaimed the FIBA AfroBasket crown, defeating Mali 70–43 in the final to secure their first title since 2013.

Backed by a vibrant home crowd, Angola dominated from start to finish, surging to a 20-point lead by the third quarter. The victory celebrations began early, with fans performing a Mexican wave as Mali struggled to keep pace.

Childe Dudao led the champions with 16 points, earning loud MVP chants in the closing stages, while Selton Miguel added 12 points. For Mali, Siriman Kanoute and Aliou Diarra managed 14 and 11 points, respectively.
The win capped a flawless 6-0 run for Angola, underscoring their return to continental supremacy. Mali, appearing in their first-ever AfroBasket final, finished the tournament with a 4-3 record.
Remarkably, Mali’s 43 points marked the lowest total scored in an AfroBasket game in the past 30 years.
