Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, for a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and strategic ties between Colombia and Nigeria.

Márquez’s visit marks a significant moment in Nigeria-Colombia relations, with discussions expected to focus on expanding collaboration in key areas such as governance, trade, agriculture, energy, education, and security.

As the first female black Vice President of Colombia, Márquez’s visit is seen as a step toward opening a new phase in Nigeria-Colombia relations, providing avenues for stronger partnership and mutual progress.

Her visit to Nigeria concludes a tour of several African countries, including Ethiopia, Mozambique, and Madagascar, aimed at strengthening Colombia’s diplomatic ties with the continent.
