President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a 10-day working vacation in Europe, marking part of his 2025 annual leave.
According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu will spend his leave between France and the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria.
This trip comes after a series of extensive diplomatic visits, including a recent trip to Japan for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development and a global South-South cooperation summit in Brazil.
The presidency describes the trip as a working vacation, with expectations that Tinubu will hold strategic meetings with foreign partners during his stay in Europe. Critics, however, have questioned the timing of the trip amid Nigeria’s economic struggles.
Despite this, the presidency maintains that the vacation is part of Tinubu’s annual schedule.
